New To Water Polo
WELCOME
Water polo is a dynamic, team-oriented sport played in the water. It combines the best of swimming, ball handling, and teamwork. No prior water polo experience is needed, and beginners are welcome, even if you’re still learning to swim!
Why families choose water polo:
Team sport in the water: Great for swimmers, athletes, and anyone who loves being in the pool.
All skill levels welcome: Start with no experience. Many of our players join us as complete beginners.
Flexible schedules: We offer programs to fit busy family calendars.
Builds confidence and community: Players develop athletic skills, make friends, and learn life lessons.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can play water polo?
Anyone! Our programs are open to children (6+) and adults (18+) of all skill levels.
Does my child need to know how to swim?
No prior water polo experience is required, but basic comfort in the water is helpful. For beginners, we offer Splashball and introductory programs where strong swimming skills are not required.
What equipment does my child need?
A swimsuit, goggles, and a water bottle, we will provide everything else! Please note our swimsuit requirements below:
- Splashball: Girls: One-piece swimsuit. Boys: Jammers (preferred) or swim trunks. Hair must be worn up.

- Masters: Team suits, shirts, and shorts are available for purchase on our team store.
Team gear and CT Premier merch are available for sale at our team store.
Can my child try a practice before committing?
Yes! We offer trial sessions for new players. Register on the current season’s registration page or contact us at admin@ctpremierwpc.com for more information.
How often are practices?
Practice schedules vary by age group and program. We offer flexible options to fit your family’s needs.
Where are practices and games held?
Most practices and home games are hosted at Chelsea Piers Connecticut, located in Stamford. When Chelsea Piers hosts a swim meet, we do not have access to the pool. On these days, we will try to find alternate locations for practice, but if we cannot, practices will be cancelled for that day.
Our CT Premier Travel team attends competitions in the northeast and tournaments across the country, including the Junior Olympics in California.
